The head of the Patriotic League of Uganda (PLU) in Kira Municipality who is also staunch supporter of the ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM), Hon.Dan Kananura has vowed to to work with government to bring long-awaited development, pledging youth employment initiatives , infrastructure projects, and a new era of prosperity if elected.

Kananura, a renowned PLU mobilizer made the remarks on Saturday 25th January 2024 during his political consultative meeting held at Caravan Hotel in Kireka, with a bold promise to rejuvenate the Kira Municipality through job creation initiatives and other developments if elected as the next Member of Parliament (MP) for Kira Municipality.

Addressing supporters at his Kananura criticized the longstanding neglect by the current leadership, asserting that it’s time for a transformative change in leadership to foster growth and development at the office of member of parliament for Kira Municipality.

“The people of Kira Municipality have been voting for opposition for the past years years without seeing the benefits of voting.It is now time to have a leader who will deliver other than abusing others leaders and peddling lies’’, noted Kananura.

“I have come to change the narratives of the development of the area as a well-vested resident who has the constituents at heart and will ensure that we solve the problems affecting our communities.”
Joining Kananura in rallying support for his candidature,Juma Witonze , a diplomat , businessman and politician who is the head of PLU in greater Mpigi urged residents to unite behind the PLU’s Kananura.

“We have suffered a lot under the current leadership as the people of Kira and it’s time to rewrite our story by sending the able leader to represent us and bring development to the area,” Witonze asserted.
Witonze said if elected, Kananurawill coordinate well with the government and other leaders to ensure effective service delivery.
“It is only the NRM with clear policies through its manifesto of transforming lives.President Museveni is looking for a cadre to serve you. I ask you to elect the Kananura who is loyal and committed to serving you,” Witonze said.

Witonze asserted that the government has prioritized economic infrastructure development to lower the cost of doing business in Uganda so that more jobs are created to tackle unemployment among the youth. He highlighted why peace, security and stability are important ingredients in development which have spurred Uganda’s social economic transformation.
While rallying support for Kananura, Witonze further noted that the government dealt with both internal and external threats of peace and tranquility and the lives and property of the people and now the country is secure, citing countries with endless unrest.
