This follows last month’s digitization of the party’s membership register, which now contains over 18 million members.

Presiding over the launch of the exercise, NRM Vice Chairperson for the Eastern Region, Capt. Mike Mukula at the NRM headquarters, Plot 10 Kyadondo Road, Nakasero, urged party members to verify their details with village registrars starting Wednesday, January 29, to ensure their participation in upcoming structure and primary elections.

“The register is crucial for ensuring transparent and credible primary elections of flag bearers while strengthening the party from the grassroots,” said Capt. Mukula.

“Work diligently on the register. The NRM members are counting on you, so avoid substandard work,” Todwong said. He also reminded members, including those aged 16 and 17, to ensure they are registered.

Ambassador Barbara Nekesa, the NRM National Treasurer, praised the administrators and registrars for their efforts during the first phase of registration, which facilitated the digitization of the register.

“We are now in phase two to confirm what we achieved in phase one. Kindly approach it with the same diligence,” Hon. Nekesa urged.

Hajjat Medina Naham Ojale, the Director of Finance and Administration, cautioned against any form of indiscipline during the display and updating process.

“Handle everything in your offices responsibly. Avoid illegal activities and maintain close communication with the secretariat for guidance,” she advised.

NRM Electoral Commission Chairperson Dr. Tanga Odoi announced that the electoral roadmap would be released soon, once the register is finalized.

“Election officers must ensure sub-county, parish, and village registrars handle the registers with utmost care,” he emphasized.

The launch was attended by several members of the Central Executive Committee (CEC), including Hon. Kiwanda Suubi, Vice Chairperson for the Buganda Region, Hon. Lydia Wanyoto, Chairperson of the NRM Women’s League, Hon. James Tweheyo of the Workers’ League, and top management of the NRM Secretariat.
