US Ambassador pays courtesy call on Lord Mayor Lukwago, Discuss Climate Change financing, Infrastructure Development, Refugee Support
On February 5, 2024; the US Ambassador to Uganda, Ambassador William W. Popp, paid a courtesy call on the Lord Mayor of Kampala, Erias Lukwago, at Kampala Capital City Authority headquarters.
The two discussed areas of mutual cooperation and interest; Climate Change financing, Infrastructure Development, Refugee Support, Air quality control, HIV/AIDS treatment and prevention, amongst others.

The Lord Mayor thanked the US Government for its continued support in the improvement of Health and Education in the City through programs such as PEPFAR.
The duo pledged to further strengthen cooperation between the US Embassy, Kampala and KCCA.
His Excellency William W. Poppy served as US Ambassador to Guatemala before being posted to Uganda.
