On Tuesday 21st , 2026, the National Social Security Fund (NSSF) made significant visit to Tembo Steels (U) Limited ( TSUL) , an ISO 9002-certified Company, and one of East Africa’s largest corporations, specializing in the manufacturing of hot and cold rolled profiles.

The delegation comprised; Mr Allan Sekajja Gitta – Acting Senior Project Manager, Mr George Okumu – Project Manager and Mr James Labongo – Project Manager.

‘’The visit provided a valuable opportunity to present our vision of building a steel industry fully powered by Ugandans, anchored on local resources and supported by progressive and inclusive work policies’’, said officials from Tembo.

NSSF team commended Tembo’s strategic investments that have not only created tangible assets but also intangible ones, which serve as pillars in the Ugandan economy.

‘’We appreciate NSSF for taking the time to engage with us and gain deeper insight into Uganda’s primary virgin steel production. Such engagements continue to inspire our commitment to strengthening the industry and contributing to a sustainable industrial future for Uganda’’, added Tembo officials.
