The Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA), the governing body of association football in Uganda which is the monopoly body licensed by the National Council of Sports (NCS) to run the sport of football in Uganda has organized a tournament for 8 traditional academic institutions to promote the game among students.
Whereas traditional academic institutions are known for producing great citizens of the country, the football industry has lately been devoid of academically successful persons who are footballers too.
Under the theme; Excellency in sports and academics, the elite league will give an opportunity to soccer players, referees and coaches at carefully selected traditional secondary schools more re-known for academic excellence that will undertake football development in a safe, secure and technically managed environment without compromising academics.
‘’Other benefits of the league according to sources is airing the tournament Live on FUFA TV thereby showcasing the talents of the participating players to a worldwide audience and to football Agents as well’’, a source told our reporter .
According to the program, each school will also nominate 4 young enthusiastic students to be trained by FUFA as YOUNG Coaches, Match Referees and Digital Media Officers hence a benefit to school in other football/sports programs, also individually opening youngsters to mainstream services
FUFA Tv will further provide all the uniforms for each participating school, as well as facilitate all the match officials for the games and cash prizes will be available in various categories.

FUFA has advised participating Schools to provide a written acceptance to be part of the FUFA Tv Cup, ensure discipline of the students, involve the OBs and also provide Students or teachers or staff to be trained and appointed as coaches, referees, GCs and or Media officers.
