Officials from the Ministry of Works and Transport (MoWT) have commended the proprietors of Tembo Steels limited , the most diversified, integrated company in Africa for their cutting age Innovation and technology which have rapidly transformed steel production, driving towards greater sustainability, efficiency, and product quality.

The delegation from MoWT which is mandated to plan, develop, and maintain transport infrastructure and services, manage public works, and promote good standards in the construction industry, was conducting a guided tour at the Tembo Steels factories in Iganga and Buikwe on July 28 2025 where they overwhelmed hailed the company for their technology in hydrogen-based steelmaking, digitalization, automation, and advanced materials.
‘’These advancements are reshaping the industry, enabling new possibilities in design, construction, and manufacturing. As Ministry of Works and Transport we are impressed with Tembo Steels for this state of the art innovation, technology, and company’s commitment towards sustainability’’, said one of the officials from MoWT.

The officials who were welcomed by Mr. Manish Kalla, the General Manager of Tembo Steels and other factory administrators , said Tembo’s unique approach to research and production in the steel sector encourages Ugandans and the government to prioritize locally produced goods and services in their purchases.
