The increased local production is expected to reduce reliance on imported diagnostic kits, lower testing costs, and improve access to healthcare services.

The collaboration between Microhaem and Equity Bank is a strategic move to strengthen Uganda’s healthcare infrastructure and ensure the availability of quality diagnostic tools, according to Micro-Haem Scientifics and Medical Supplies Limited.

The expanded facility will also produce kits for HIV Viral Load, HIV EID, Hep B, and HPV.
