Hundreds benefit from ONC empowerment Drive in Katwe as Namyalo Rallies Makindye Ghetto to support Museveni

Hajjat Hadijah Namyalo Uzeiye, Senior Presidential Advisor and National Coordinator for Bazzukulu under the Office of the National Chairman (ONC), has called on youth groups, ghetto communities, and women in Makindye Division to remain disciplined, reject opportunists, and uphold the values of the National Resistance Movement (NRM) as Uganda heads toward the 2026 general elections.

Speaking on Wednesday afternoon at Katwe Ku Kisaawe during a massive empowerment event themed Abanaku Tweyambe, Hajjat Namyalo emphasized that the support being extended is not only a tool for economic liberation but also a call to responsibility and purpose.
“This support is meant to help you rise out of poverty, but I am also here to remind you that discipline and unity are critical,” she said. “Do not allow self-seekers to misuse you for acts that contradict our party’s values and Jajja’s vision. The NRM stands for peace, progress, and dignity.”
During the event, hundreds of youth braved the midday heat to receive empowerment tools and listen to Hajjat Namyalo’s message. Over 30 toolboxes, 150 mattresses, 50 sewing machines, 50 welding machines, 20 car washers, 20 ovens, 50 hair and hand dryers, five bricklaying machines, 20 popcorn machines, and 10 groundnut grinders were distributed to various youth and women groups.
In addition, football jerseys and boxing jabs were handed out to support local sports talent and foster teamwork in the ghettos.
Hajjat Namyalo also used the platform to mobilize support for President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni’s re-election bid, urging the Bazzukulu to mark July 5th as a pivotal moment when the President will be officially nominated as the NRM’s flag bearer and National Chairman.

“Let us stand ready to show the country that Makindye and Kampala are firmly behind Jajja’s leadership. We must mobilize peacefully, without violence, because that is the legacy our Chairman upholds,” she stated.

Apostle Benson Kayondo of the Reformed Generation of Pastors and Preachers Association, a co-organizer of the event, commended the ONC for transforming lives in underserved communities.
“This initiative is changing the face of the ghettos. Many families had lost hope. Today, they walk away with tools and skills to start afresh,” he said.
Nakiwogo Sarah, a single mother from Katwe, expressed deep gratitude: “This sewing machine will help me take care of my children. I’m grateful for this opportunity to rebuild my life.”
