Fort Portal Isaaza made a statement of intent in their tournament opener, securing a commanding 3-0 win over Kibale in front of a packed crowd at Rwamwanja Stadium, Kamwenge District, on Matchday 4 of the MTN Kabode Tooro Kingdom Amasaza Football Tournament.
The visitors wasted no time asserting dominance, with Francis Alituha opening the scoring in the 12th minute before Musinguzi Patrick Pato doubled the lead just six minutes later, leaving Kibale stunned before the halftime whistle.
The second half saw Ivan Businge seal the result with a third goal in the 68th minute, rounding off an emphatic display that effectively eliminated Kibale from this year’s edition of the Amasaza Cup.
Speaking after the match, Fort Portal head coach Vanda Apuuli credited the result to preparation and attacking intent:
“We played a very good game and we deserved a win. We dominated the first half and created many opportunities which resulted in two goals.”
