UEDCL Calls for collective support towards the 19th Annual National Internal Audit Conference

The Uganda Electricity Distribution Company Limited (UEDCL), the company responsible for distributing and selling electricity in Uganda has urged stakeholders to collectively support the forthcoming 19th Annual National Internal Audit Conference.

The conference, scheduled for 21st to 23rd May at Speke Resort Munyonyo, will feature key discussions on building high-performance audit teams and change management.

Speaking during the Media launch of the Conference at the Uganda Media center in Kampala, Jonan Kiiza, the UEDCL Public Relations Officer recognized the critical role the Institute plays in advancing the field of internal auditing and strengthening the profession as a whole.

Kiiza highlighted the crucial role of internal auditors in driving organizational transparency and called for collective support towards the event.

Kiiza, on behalf of the UEDCL said their sponsorship is commitment an inspiring gesture of support toward strengthening Uganda’s governance and audit landscape.

Officials from IIAU said the conference will bring together reformers, strategists, and thought leaders at the forefront of internal audit, finance and  governance.

The event’s theme is “Engage & Inspire for Change”. IIAU has unveiled various partners to promote the conference.

The IIA is the internal audit profession’s global voice, recognized authority, acknowledged leader, chief advocate, and principal educator. Members work in internal auditing, risk management, governance, internal control, information technology audit, education and security.

The Institute of Internal Auditors Uganda is affiliated to the Institute of Internal Auditors Inc. with its headquarters in USA Florida. It was formed in 2002 by Internal Audit practitioners as an Association and thereafter incorporated as a company limited by guarantee on 23 December 2008.

The Institute is managed by the Board of Directors elected every 2 years. The Board is composed of The President, Senior Vice President, and Vice President in charge of Membership, Vice President in Charge of Training & Certification services, Board Secretary, Treasurer, Immediate Past President and five Board Members drawn from both the public and private sectors.
