These advanced devices will provide households and businesses with real-time data on water consumption, helping them monitor usage, prevent wastage, and ultimately reduce their water bills.

“With smart water meters, Ugandans will finally be able to manage their water bills better because they’ll see exactly where and how their water is being used or wasted,” said Ibrahim Senyonga, General Manager, MTN Uganda Enterprise Business Unit. “This visibility will not only help families save money but also contribute to the larger goal of reducing water waste across our communities.”
For too long, water losses due to leaks, theft, or inefficiencies known as non-revenue water (NRW). These have burdened both utility providers and consumers alike. Smart meters tackle this issue head-on. With real-time monitoring and automated data collection, utilities can swiftly detect leaks or unauthorized usage, leading to faster repairs and significant cost savings. For consumers, the transparency provided by smart meters empowers them to make informed decisions, conserve water, and avoid unexpected high bills.
