Centenary Bank Kireka Branch Team Joins Pilgrims from Nebbi Diocese for Grand Entry to Namugongo

Centenary Bank, the largest commercial microfinance bank in Uganda,through their branch in Kireka have joined pilgrims from Nebbi Diocese to make a grand entry to Namugongo, marking a significant moment in the Uganda Martyrs Day celebrations.

Beatrice Lugalambi, the General Manager Corporate Communications and Marketing at Centenary Bank addressed, “We are proud to continue our long-standing partnership with the Catholic Church and the Nebbi Diocese in particular,”she stated. “Our contributions to the Uganda Martyrs celebrations are a testament to our commitment to supporting the communities we serve. We are honored to be part of this significant event and to support the pilgrims on their journey to Namugongo.”

Centenary Bank has made significant contributions to the Uganda Martyrs Day celebrations, including a contribution of UGX 50 million in support of Nebbi Diocese’s organization of the Uganda Martyrs Day 2024. Various branches, including Wobulenzi, Nebbi, Paidha, Bweyale, and Mbale, have also supported communities taking part in the pilgrimage to Namugongo.

The bank’s branch staff have gone above and beyond to support the pilgrims. For example, Bweyale,Paidha, Mbale, and Wobulenzi Branch Eagles staff joined the pilgrims on their walk and provided money, and logistics, while alsoaccompaning the the pilgrims on their pilgrimage.

The bank, also supported the singing choir competitions organized by Vision Group with a contribution of UGX 10 million. “We are committed to supporting the communities we serve and are proud to be part of this significant event,” saidLugalambi. “The Martyrs Day celebrations hold a special place in the bank’s heart, and music plays a significant role in honoring the martyrs.”

Lugalambi further commented, “As a Catholic-founded bank, Centenary Bank is deeply committed to supporting initiatives that align with its values and promote the well-being of its communities,” she stated. The bank has a long history of partnership with the Catholic Church and its activities, and this sponsorship is a testament to that pledge.
