MP Kisa Stephen Injects Shs 5m into Kyabazinga Wedding

The Luuka South Member of Parliament (MP), National Resistance Movement (NRM) ‘s Hon. Stephen Kisa  Bakubalwayo has on Monday morning handed over his contribution of Ushs. 5 million towards the upcoming Busoga Kingdom Royal Wedding slated for November 18th, 2023, in Bugembe, Jinja Municipality, at Christ’s Cathedral in Bugembe Town.

Addressing the media at Sheraton Hotel Kampala, Hon. Kisa said, “It is a great honor for the people of Luuka and me as their representative to be part of the Busoga Royal Wedding and to support the organsing committee. Today, am pleased to announce my contribution worth Ushs. 5 million towards the upcoming Busoga Kingdom -Royal Wedding of His Majesty, King Wilberforce Gabula Nadiope and Her Royal Highness Jovia Mutesi. We shall always support the unity of Busoga , development and work for our king to spur development’’,said Kisa.

Receiving Kisa’s contribution, Busoga Kingdom’s 2nd Deputy Prime Minister Ahmed Osman Noor and the Chairman of the Busoga Royal Wedding Central Organising Committee, Owek. Eng Patrick Batumbya thanked the former  for supporting the Kingdom in organising The Royal Wedding and the entire kingdom activities.

Hon. Stephen Kisa who is also the director of  the Lugazi homeland schools, has over the years supported Busoga kingdom programs especially through education scholarships , donations among others.

The Kyabazinga, William Gabula Nadiope IV, was introduced to Mutesi’s parents in Mayuge district, which paved the way for a traditional nuptial ceremony.

A committee comprising 23 members was put together to oversee the organisation of the wedding.

The royal wedding organising committee is composed of: the presidential affairs minister, Milly Babalanda, as the local governments’ mobilizer; general duties minister Justine Lumumba, as the head of media; KCCA director Dorothy Kisaka, in charge of special assignments; the chairman of the Uganda Moslem supreme council, Dr. Mohammed Lubega, as the general coordinator; and David Batema, the resident judge of Iganga High Court.
