The Mityana Deputy Resident District Commissioner (DRDC) Ms Prossy Mwanjuzi has on Wednesday morning received heroic praises from residents of Mityana and social media pundits after she rescued an ailing National Unity Platform (NUP) councilor and delivered him to Mityana General Hospital.
According to one of the NUP Coordinators in the district who preferred anonymity, Mwanjuzi who was on a routine monitoring in the District landed on stranded Nao Katongole at Mwera health centre IV with a referral note to the General Hospital but ambulances weren’t available to evacuate him, prompting the former to use Vehicle as an ambulance.
Lumu Fred , one of the attendants found at Mwera looking after his sick father noted that Mwanjuzi with her aides lifted Katongole into the former’s car and took him to Mityana General Hospital for better medical management.
‘’People want service delivery and with such actions, no Ugandan can remain resistant to support the ruling NRM party .The one who saves your life wants you to see to see the future so we are grateful for the deputy RDC for being a true patriot ’’, noted one of the NUP Coordinators after learning about Mwanjuzi’s action.
Robina Nakibuule , one of the residents, hailed Mwanjuzi for supporting President Museveni’s call on monitoring government projects and ensuring that the public gets services.

Katumba Manoor, a farmer, said Mwanjuzi is a field officer who associates with the public and understands what the common man wants given her resilience in executing duties.
Mwanjuzi who was transferred from Mbale gets long queues at her offices in Mityana which also speak volumes as it seems, ordinary citizens oftentimes prefer to seek her support.
It should be noted that there are three primary formal roles of RDCs including; to monitor the provision of services, ensure security and take on tasks as directed by the president -laid out in the Constitution and any additional guidelines provided by the Office of the Presidency.
RDCs are the “governor of the district” accordingly and as such can intervene on any issue they see fit or when they are directed to do so by the President.
