Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba, the Senior Presidential Adviser For Special Operations has on Wednesday officiated at the handover of contemporary Wheel Chairs donated by Team Chairman MK Project to the sub-region of Kigezi.
Led by Micheal Toyota Nuwagira alias Chairman, the Head of Team Chairman MK Project, the group brought smiles to the PWDs in Kigezi after the donated multi-million wheel chairs which will be distributed to the beneficiaries in the various districts of Kigezi.
This happened at Kigezi High School Lower Grounds in Kabale town on Wednesday afternoon during the ‘Rukundo Egumeho’ concert 2023
At the handover, Nuwagira said the donation forms part of ongoing interventions by his group to improve the living conditions of persons with disability and support government efforts in empowering Ugandans.
“As we are all aware, persons with disabilities are always confronted with many challenges, which prevent them from having a decent quality of life and fulfilling their true potential. The donation of these wheel chairs will ease and eliminate the obstacles many of you face in your everyday lives’’,Nuwagira told reporters.
Toyota said they aim is to promote and Protect equalization of opportunities and realization of human rights for People with Disability (PWD) to leave a decent livelihood.
Toyota added that, Team Chairman has been helping people across the country in donating to communities since last year.
