Ssenyonyi made the remarks during a meeting with the Katikkiro of Baganda Charles Peter Mayiga at Bulange Mengo.
The Leader of Opposition was accompanied by the NUP Secretary General Lewis Rubongoya and a section of opposition MPS giving support of 21 million shillings towards the Kabaka birthday run.
The proceeds of the birthday run will go towards the fights against HIV.
‘’We pledge to support the activities of the Buganda Kingdom because we are obedient subjects of the Kabaka.” Ssenyonyi said.
Meanwhile the Katikiro of Buganda Charles Peter Mayiga emphasized that Buganda Kingdom is open to everyone regardless of their political affiliation.

‘’Kabaka is not for only for Baganda but for Buganda because we are a Nation.’’ The Katikkiro said.
The Katikkiro thanked the Leader of opposition for his devotion towards the development of the kingdom and praised his exemplary leadership.
The 11th edition of the Kabaka birthday run is set to be held on April, 7, 2024.
Just like the previous year, this year’s theme, “Ending HIV/AIDs by 2030”, reflects the collective efforts to fight one of the most pressing global health challenges.
