Business mogul Al-Hajji Hamis Kiggundu had a private meeting with His Excellency Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, the President of Uganda, at State House, Entebbe. They discussed a number of pertinent issues, but primarily focused on Uganda’s hosting of the prestigious Continental showpiece, the African Cup of Nations (AFCON).
During the same meeting, Ham informed the President of the progress made thus far at Nakivubo Memorial Stadium. Additionally, he extended a formal invitation to His Excellency to grace the opening of the refurbished national stadium.
This meeting is part of a series of meetings that His Excellency is scheduled to hold with different Uganda Football stakeholders this week in preparation for AFCON 2027.

The stadium which is constructed by businessman of Ham group of companies has been designed with seating capacity of about 30,000 is set to be open officially soon.
In July this year, a team from the Confederation of African Football (CAF) inspected the construction progress and standard and were impressed by the works.
The stadium, valued at billions, also garnered high accolades from the CAF officials for meeting the stringent standards required to host prestigious football events like AFCON.
