The Human Resource Managers Association of Uganda (HRMAU) on Friday, 24 April 2026 officially hand over leadership to a new Governing Council, marking a significant milestone in the Association’s continued growth and contribution to Uganda’s human resource profession.

The transition saw Mr. Ronald Bbosa, who has served two impactful terms as President, hand over office to Mr. Paul Rumanda Rugambwa, the incoming President.
“We know most organisations in Uandag last 5 years. Our decades speak to resilience and those before us. Governance thrives on resources and this council proved revenue can come’’, said Bbosa , the outgoing President.
Mr. Rumanda assumed office at a defining moment for the profession, with a clear commitment to strengthening governance, advancing professional standards, fostering unity across the HR community, and positioning HRMAU for sustainable growth.

His leadership agenda emphasizes ethical and accountable governance, the professionalization of HR practice, inclusive member engagement, and strategic partnerships that enhance the Association’s national relevance and impact.
With a nationwide membership of over 1,300 HR professionals, HRMAU remains a key driver of professional standards and policy engagement in the labor and employment sector.

The Association has notably been at the forefront of championing the Human Resource Management Professionals Bill, aimed at professionalizing and regulating HR practice in Uganda.
