PRAU RUN: Corporates urged to embrace healthy lifestyles

Top corporate professionals in Kampala were encouraged to prioritize healthy lifestyles through physical activity at the 2025 Public Relations Association of Uganda (PRAU) Run on Friday. The event, organized by PRAU, aimed to promote well-being and networking among its members and other corporate participants.

PRAU President Irene Nakasiita, joined by other representatives from PRAU and Sponsors to flaff of the 5k runners. This was at Sideline Bar and Restaurant (Lugogo Indoor Stadium) on 20th June 2025. During the event, corporates were urged to embrace a Healthy Lifestyle.

The 5-kilometer race began at Sideline Bar and Restaurant (Lugogo Indoor Stadium) and wound through upper Kololo. Joel Kagina claimed first place, followed by Baguma Robert in second and Edrisa Sssentonga in third. The top 10 finishers, which also included Asaba James (4th), Lule Eriah (5th), Kiwanuka Emmauel (6th), Annet Nkazozi (7th), Zziwa Joel (8th), Barbra Ssina (9th), and Namboozo Josephine (10th), received accolades from African Dreamz and hampers from Movit Products.

PRAU President Irene Nakasiita emphasized the association’s commitment to raising health awareness and fostering connections among its members.

“With the run, we don’t only look at it as a leisure activity, but rather a moment of promoting good health,” Nakasiita said. “We run to beat non-communicable diseases, promote wellness for our members for a happier and productive workforce in the Profession by not only focusing on the health aspect but leveraging the networking amongst members.”

 

Nakasiita added that the run is part of PRAU’s strategy for member mobilization and coordination. She highlighted a series of upcoming activities designed to benefit members, including the National PR Symposium scheduled for July 25, 2025, which will address critical issues in the public relations field. Nakasiita encouraged non-members to join PRAU to access these professional development and networking opportunities.

Beyond the race, participants engaged in various activities, including aerobics, mini-marathons, wellness talks and a dedicated networking session.

Several corporate entities partnered with PRAU to ensure the event’s success. Collaborators included Centenary Bank, Nile Breweries Limited, Sideline Bar and Restaurant, Affinity Media, C-Care, African Dreamz, Rwenzori Mineral Water, Uganda Red Cross Society, Movit Products, NRG Radio and Coca Cola Beverages Uganda. PRAU’s Governing Council, led by President Nakasiita, extended its appreciation to all partners for their support.
