The Special Forces Command (SFC) headquarters and surrounding health units were a hive of activity on Thursday as the Patriotic League of Uganda (PLU) Diaspora chapters marked General Muhoozi Kainerugaba’s 52nd birthday with a massive charity outreach.

Running under the theme “Run for Charity, Run for Hope,” the celebrations combined humanitarian support for new mothers with a greening initiative at the 20 Gbad Brigade Headquarters in Kigungu.
The delegation, led by USA-PLU Chapter Chairman Mr. Kananura Ronnie and Diaspora Affairs Coordinator Mr. Steven Rutasharara, was received by the SFC Chief of Staff, Brig. Gen. Paul Namawa.

While handing over essential maternity kits to mothers at SFC health units, Mr. Kananura Ronnie emphasized that the diaspora remains deeply connected to the vision of Gen. MK.”We are here to show that distance is not a barrier to patriotism,” Mr. Kananura remarked.

“As we celebrate Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba reaching 52 years, we choose to honor his transformative leadership by giving back to the roots that nurtured us. This donation is a small token of our big hope for a healthy, vibrant Uganda.”Mr. Steven Rutasharara echoed these sentiments, noting that the “Run for Hope” theme reflects the diaspora’s confidence in the future.

“We thank Gen. MK for being the lighthouse that guides our efforts back home,” Rutasharara said. “Our diaspora members are inspired by his dedication to service. By planting these 52 trees today—one for each year of his life—we are literally rooting our commitment to the peace and environmental stability he stands for.”
