The Stanbic Entebbe Match Play series resumes on May 9 and in the run-up, Stanbic Bank has awarded prizes to several golfers who have shown exceptional performance and dedication during this annual knock-out competition for pairs.

While handing over hampers of various items to the winners at Entebbe Golf Club recently, Spencer Sabiti, the Chief Executive of Stanbic Properties said, “These prizes recognize your remarkable achievement during the competition, and we hope it will inspire many more golfers to strive for excellence. We remain committed to actively engaging with and supporting the golfing community.”
Among the recipients were the pairs of Edrae Kagombe/Evelyn Atukunda; Esther Aganyira/Arthur Arinaitwe, and Paul Nsereko and his partner Patrick Mugisha Muntu. Another strong field of contenders is expected to compete for next round of competition at Entebbe Golf Club.
Sabiti highlighted the steady growth of golf in Uganda, emphasizing that the sport is increasingly becoming more inclusive and shedding its long-held perception as an elite pastime.
He said Stanbic Bank is playing a significant role in this transformation through strategic sponsorships and partnerships.
The bank’s contributions to golf include support for the Annual Junior Golf Championship, sponsorship of the Entebbe Golf Open with an annual contribution of UGX 100 million, and funding for the Uganda National Ladies’ Golf Team.
