Rotary Means Business Expo unveiled for 14th , 15th June at UMA Lugogo

A two-day Rotary Means Business Expo will kick off on Saturday, June 14, 2025, with 62 exhibitors as well as 10,000 people, said officials.

Edward Luyombya, the Chairman, Rotary Means Business Fellowship Uganda, said that the expo will bring together Rotarians and Retractors who have running businesses and want to promote them, in addition to associates and sponsors who are bent on attracting people’s attention.

“Up to 62 local enterprises have booked with us, and will display their merchandise for people to buy and appreciate,” he said during a press conference held at the UMA conference Hall in Lugogo on Friday.

He said the expo will be held under the theme “Connecting Bridges and Unlocking Opportunities, and will focus on how participants can use synergies and business linkages to support each other and grow.

“In today’s world, you cannot do business alone. You have to collaborate, create partnerships on your way to success. We want participants to work in that direction and grow their businesses,” he said.

Luyombya said exhibitors are coming from the education sector, Information and Communication Technology (ICT), food processing, agro-processing, as well as financial services.

‘’These are the key sectors that we have opted to promote this year. Our fellowship focuses on promoting members with a passion for business in various ways’’, said Luyombya.

He added ; “One of the ways is to train them and see that they focus on those challenging areas. The other way is to strive and promote their businesses. We are also encouraging members to buy from each other.”

Maggie Naimanye, the chairperson organising committee, said during the weekend event, they also officially unveiled the Youth Innovation Challenge, an initiative aimed at grooming creativity and innovation within the youth.

“We want all the proceeds that come from this Expo to be pooled together and ensure that the young generation

can realise their dreams by creating unique solutions in this economy,” she said.

The initiative is expected to be launched by Rotarian Ann Nkutu, the governor of district 9213.

Rotarian Peter Kimbowa will be the keynote speaker during the 2-day event. To gain entry to the expo, visitors will have to part with sh10,000 each.
