Bank of Africa (BOA) has launched the “Appsolutely Eassy” Campaign, Introducing a seamless, fully remote account opening experience via the BOA Wallet App-putting financial services directly into the hands of Ugandans without the need to visit a branch.

The campaign specifically targets the youth, first-time banking customers and existing account holders, tapping into Uganda’s rising smartphone adoption and mobile-first lifestyle.

According to the GSMA Mobile Economy Sub-Saharan Africa 2024 report, smartphone usage in Uganda is projected to surpass 80% by 2025, driven by increased internet access and more affordable devices.

“With the BOA Wallet, we are removing traditional barriers to financial inclusion,” said Arthur Isiko, Managing Director of Bank of Africa-Uganda. “Now, anyone can open a fully functional bank account in minutes, right from their mobile phone no paperwork, no queues, no delays. This Innovation is part of our broader strategy to make banking truly accessible to everyone, especially the younger, digitally driven generation,” he added.
