Hon.Kakembo Urges believers to embrace peace, unity, and generosity during Ramadan

The Director of Kakembo Foundation who doubles as the councilor for Kireka A/ Central, in Kira Municipality Hon.Henry Kakembo Batte has urged all Muslims to “Feel more connected to the almighty and thus love and respect God and one another.”

While delivering his Ramadan message to the people of Kireka and Ugandans at large, Kakembo , who is also an aspiring mayor noted that the period of Ramadan is very essential for Muslims as it all leads to a greater self and connects the people with one another and more over with the creator.

It should be noted that Muslims across Uganda on Saturday, March 1, 2025, commenced fasting as the holy month of Ramadan officially began as per the Muslim calendar following the sighting of the crescent moon as confirmed on Friday evening by Dr. Ziyad Swalleh Lubanga, the Director of Sharia at the Uganda Muslim Supreme Council (UMSC).

‘’On behalf of the Hon.Kakembo foundation, I would like to sincerely wish all Muslims in Uganda, a very peaceful and blessed Holy Month of Ramadan.  We all know the month of Ramadan is a very important period, where Muslims traditionally come together to fast, pray and honour the values at the heart of Islam, of peace, gratitude, generosity and compassion’’, said Kakembo.

Kakembo urged the Uganda Muslim Supreme Council in urging believers to embrace the spirit of peace, unity, and generosity throughout the month.

‘’Once again let us all welcome the month of Ramadan and translate the common values and principles of peace, love and compassion to each other’’, added Kakembo.

Through his foundation and during his tenure as councilor for Kireka A/ central , Kakembo has been advocating for development and empowerment of lives in Kira Municipality and many have been positively impacted by his efforts including the youth, women groups PWDs among other stakeholders.

Kakembo has over the past years through his foundation, Kakembo Foundation dedicated to promoting balanced, respectful and enriched relations among people by supporting holistic socio economic empowerment for the needy communities and all stakeholders.

He has strived to provide education for needy children, advocates for establishment of vocational centers to support entrepreneurship training of unemployed women and youth; promotes holistic socio economic empowerment for the needy communities; health campaigns; supports all vulnerable persons including the elderly persons and the needy children; talent development and financial support to small business as startup capital for various groups.

This is the reason why many are backing him for the mayoral seat , claiming that he is trusted and is a common man who understands all classes of people and the communities will transform under his leadership.
