Owek.Namutamba further advocated for inclusivity, urging events managers to feature local artists and embrace homegrown talents which will give them platforms to promote their content.

Namutamba said the Busoga Ministry she heads is ready to search out for more partnerships to support the region’s arts industry so that they can draw investment from both local and international audiences .

On his part, Jaffar emphasized the power of digital platforms in connecting the full potential talents.

“Giving a radio, a television, or library your music isn’t a way to promote your music. The proliferation of digital platforms and technology has opened up new avenues for artists and musicians to reach audiences and monetize their work. Embracing digital distribution channels, streaming services, and online marketplaces can expand the reach of Ugandan art and music globally, generating revenue through digital sales, licensing, and royalties”, noted Jaffar.

The participants hailed Owek.Namutamba for her dedication in promoting the region, saying that implementing these strategies and creating an enabling environment for the art and music industry to thrive, Busoga can unlock the full potential of its creative economy and harness it as a driver of sustainable economic growth and development.

‘’ With the right support and investment, Busoga artists and musicians can not only enrich the cultural fabric of the region but also contribute significantly to its prosperity and wellbeing’’, said one of the participants.
