Leaders of Tororo district local government on Thursday commissioned and handed over education infrastructures and water projects undertaken in the financial year 2022/2023.
Education infrastructures were built at Paragang Primary school in Paya Sub County and a Borehole in Bere Central village in Sop Sop Sub-county.
The leaders, led by Tororo Deputy Resident District Commissioner Albert Amula also handed over construction sites for projects in this financial year 2023/2024 to various contractors as which includes; a borehole in Ramogi village in Nawire sub-county, construction of a 2 classroom block at Nawire primary school, 3 Classroom Block and a five stance pit latrine at Bariyanga primary school in Paya Sub-county, and 3 classroom Block at Liwira Primary school in Sere Sub-county.
‘’I appreciated the district leadership for lobbying specifically the Area MP Hon Fox Odoi who lobbied for classroom blocks from the Minister of Education and Sports and also the district leadership led by the district chairperson for ensuring that these projects are implemented for the financial year 2023/2024’’, noted Amula.
He tasked the stakeholders in respective sub counties to monitor the construction projects that are implemented and to ensure there is value for money.
The district vice chairperson Hon Akumu Rebecca thanked local leaders for lobbying for their people in various sub-counties and urged the beneficiaries to ensure there is maximum utilization and improvement in performance especially in education at the benefiting schools.
