Evelyne Anite, the state minister for privatization and investment, recently stated that such factories help Uganda to stop importing goods that can now be produced locally and pointed out that exports will greatly grow as a result of the construction of industries. The formation of industries, according to Anite, promotes growth and economic development in the nation.

He said billions of shillings spent on buying foreign goods and services must be channeled to Ugandan manufacturers to grow the country. He said the government would work with the factories so that the products that are made locally get to market. “Government departments must buy what is produced locally and the government will tax imports of things which are otherwise made locally here so that we protect our local producers,” he said recently.

After commissioning, Staunch Machinery Uganda is expected to employ thousands of people both directly and indirectly, and export machinery and equipment to several countries on the African continent.
