Officials from the National Contracting Company Limited (NCC), one of the leading contracting companies in the electrical, Construction and mechanical works have on Friday evening joined the Uganda Electricity Transmission Company Limited (UETCL) in celebrating the attainment of International Organization for Standardization-ISO 9001:2015 Certificate.
At the colorful event held at Serena Hotel in Uganda’s Capital Kampala NCC Officials led by Barbuddhe Suresh the project manager and Mr Madhu the Commercial Manager joined government officials who included Dr Ruth Nankabirwa Ssentamu the Minister of Energy and Mineral Development in the Ugandan Cabinet, Joshua Karamagi the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) at the UETCL, Mr Kwame Ejalu Ejuku (Board chairman), development partners among other key stakeholders to celebrate the ISO 9001:2015 Certificate.
At the function, Dr.Nankabirwa said that UETCL getting ISO certification was a strategic move to make sure that they standardize their operations to cater for the market. The Minister emphasized that UETCL and other agencies should work together to make sure that the power that is generated is indeed evacuated, distributed and transmitted to the final user.
Speaking to our reporter, NCC officials who were in celebratory mood for Uganda’s achievement said that their company (NCC) is an established group with several years of operational and technical experience in the power, petrochemicals, oil & gas and refinery sectors. NCC undertakes major lump sum turnkey projects in engineering, procurement and construction.
The company is organized into different divisions including; Power Projects Division (PPD), Transmission & Distribution (T&D), Construction Division (CD), Water and Wastewater Division (WWD).
