The minister of energy and mineral development Dr Ruth Nankabirwa together with her counterpart Dr Monicca Musenro the minister of science, technology and innovation have been award by Always Be Tolerant Organization Africa peace award (ABETO) in recognition and prevalence of peace and tolerance co-existence to Ugandans.The awarding ceremony was held at Hotel Africana.
ABETO is a voluntary nongovernmental, non partisan and non-profit making organization aimed at inculcating the values of peace co-existence resolution of conflict through peaceful means and gets the people of Uganda, Africa and the world at large.
“I have received many awards but this is an award that fits Ruth Nankabirwa because I studied peace and conflict management. I feel this award fits into the one I loved most” she said.
Nankabirwa dedicated the award to all women to help a girl child to uplift their standards of living.
“I want to dedicate this award to all women who have helped the girl child to study, work for their future” she noted.

Meanwhile the minister of science, technology and innovation Dr Monica Musenero applauded ABETO for recognizing hard working people especially the ministers.
Other officials who have received awards today include,DPP Jane Frances Abodo,the commissioner general of prisons Johnson Byabashaija,Uganda’s special envoy to Namibia Godrefy Kirumira and the commissioner general of Uganda Revenue Authority John Musinguzi among others.
ABETO was formed in 1996 and duly registered by the government of Uganda. It has also awarded Members of parliament, religious leaders, the academia,diplomats,teachers and school children on tropical issues affecting society including democracy and good governance among others.
