The Kyabazinga of Busoga William Gabula Nadiope IV on Sunday, performed yoga at the main event of the ninth edition of the International Day of Yoga.
This was the Kyabazinga’s first time to join the Indian Community at the SDM temple along Bell Avenue in Jinja City to celebrate the day with people who attended the celebrations.
Over 600 people spread their mats while at SDM Temple to perform Yoga. The event was hosted by Hindu Swayamsevak Sangh (HSS) at the SDM Temple in Jinja.
In his maiden speech at the celebrations, the Kyabazinga of Busoga William Gabula Nadiope IV said it was his first time to celebrate Yoga adding that Yoga practice brings Joy, Health, Peace from within the body and opens a sense of connection between an individual’s inner consciousness and the external world.
The Monarch further thanked the Indian Community for investing in Uganda particularly in Busoga sub region where they have employed different people with different kinds of skills.
The Kyabazinga urged his subjects to continue embracing Yoga such that they can have better lives, healthy living and as well have better mental, emotional and physical way of thinking.
Prabat Singh, the head of SEWA Uganda said the main challenge in society is that people have a lot of stress, depression and anxiety adding that the only solution to these problems is doing Yoga.
