St Kizito High School Namugongo earned International recognition from Project Green Schools for environmental leadership and sustainability in action.
The recognition was at the Green Difference Awards ceremony at Columbia University in New York City on Friday, April 24, 2026.

St Kizito High School Namugongo was recognized as a 2026 Green Difference Award winner, highlighting the schools’ outstanding environmental leadership demonstrated through Climate Education and Action.
The Award was received by Dr Frederick Kakembo, one of the Directors of St Kizito Junior School Namugongo and St Kizito High School Namugongo.
The event brought together student innovators, educators, policymakers, and sustainability leaders around the world to celebrate real-world environmental solutions driven by youth.

The Green Difference Awards recognize students and change makers making measurable impact in environmental education, clean energy, sustainable agriculture,water conservation, and environmental health.
The program which attracted students and practitioners from the five continents, underscored the global reach of youth-led environmental action.
“These students are not waiting for the future, they are actively building it. Through education, innovation, and leadership, they are driving real solutions to some of the world’s most pressing environmental challenges ” said Robin Sidman, Founder and Executive Director of Project Green Schools.
