Born on 22 July 1999 in Bwala, Masaka District, Daily Ug was raised in a humble and financially challenged village called Kagganda Bisanje in Masaka. His childhood was marked by hardship and loss. At just one year old, he tragically lost his father, Hajji Abasi Kasita. From that moment, he was raised by his single mother with the support of his grandparents, who played a crucial role in shaping his character and resilience.
Growing up was far from easy. Due to a lack of school fees, Daily Ug was forced to drop out of formal education at an early age. In search of hope and direction, his mother enrolled him in Islamic studies, believing faith would provide stability and purpose. His religious foundation became one of the strongest pillars of his life, guiding him through some of his darkest moments.
In 2020, his brother brought him to Kampala for the first time. Seeing the city’s lights, opportunities, and fast-paced lifestyle opened his eyes to a new world. Standing in the capital city, Daily Ug made a life-changing promise to himself: he would never return to the village defeated by poverty. He would succeed.
At the age of 21, he secured his first job at a construction site, where he carried mixed sand and bricks under the scorching sun to earn a living. The work was physically demanding, but it strengthened his determination. In 2021, seeking better income opportunities, he began selling jewelry commonly known as “Kabiri Abiri,” moving from street to street in Kampala.

That same year, Uganda faced the COVID-19 pandemic. Like many others, Daily Ug’s life became even more difficult. Despite his limited resources, he used his small savings to buy food not only for himself but also to help street children, sharing meals with those who had even less. His compassion during crisis reflected his strong faith and humanity.
After the pandemic, his brother encouraged him to move out and learn independence in Kampala. With the rising cost of living, survival became harder. Once he left his brother’s home, Daily Ug experienced the harsh reality of life on the streets. To survive, he began collecting and selling used plastic bottles. Every day was a struggle, but he refused to give up on his dreams.
In 2022, his life took a dramatic turn.
While at a movie library, he met a friend named Shavin, an upcoming artist in Kampala. With nothing but a simple phone, Daily Ug recorded his first video, sharing his real-life story of struggle and survival on the streets. He posted the video on TikTok without expectations — unaware that this single moment would redefine his future.
Within just one day, the video went viral, reaching over 1.5 million views and gaining more than 50,000 followers. The overwhelming support shocked him. Filled with gratitude, he went live on TikTok and recited verses from the Qur’an, thanking Allah for answering his prayers. What he thought was just a post turned into the foundation of a powerful personal brand.
In 2023, Daily Ug continued using his platform to pray online, inspire youth, and support street children. He remained authentic and deeply connected to his roots. His story of resilience resonated with thousands across Uganda and beyond. As his influence grew, so did his confidence. He began stabilizing his life, securing accommodation, and planning for a more structured future — including building a family and expanding his career in music with a record label called physco records and digital media.
Today, Daily Ug represents sweet kids foundation and for many young people who feel forgotten by society. From carrying bricks and collecting plastic bottles to becoming a viral internet personality and recording artist, his journey reflects faith, perseverance, and unwavering belief in destiny. His vision remains global, his mindset limitless, and his story still unfolding.
