The Luzira Prisons Grounds was filled with exhilaration on Sunday, July 27, 2025, as Equity Bank Uganda unvieled team spirit and athletic  skills at the Corporate Sports Network (CSN) event.

The second season of the CSN, themed “Networking through Sports,” brought together over 40 companies for a thrilling day of competition featuring football, basketball, darts, and more.

In football, Equity Bank Uganda’s team delivered a spirited performance. While specific match results for Equity Bank were not fully detailed,the football category saw intense competition.

Defending champions Centenary Bank faced strong opposition from teams like Absa Bank, Uganda Bureau of Statistics (UBOS), and Electricity Regulatory Authority (ERA).

Equity Bank’s squad, known for their energy and teamwork, held their own, with standout moments of coordination and flair on the 7-a- side pitch, where teams were encouraged to include at least two female players to promote inclusivity.

On the basketball court, Equity Bank Uganda brought their A-game, competing against

corporate giants like MTN Uganda, who previously dominated the basketball category in 2022 with 40 points.

While MTN Uganda set a high bar in past seasons, Equity Bank’s players showed agility and precision, making their presence felt in this fast-paced sport. Exact scores remain unavailable, but Equity’s commitment to wellness and connection shone through in their dynamic plays.

The introduction of darts, a sport added due to popular demand from CEOs and top managers, added a fresh twist to the day’s events.

Equity Bank Uganda’s participants embraced the challenge, showcasing focus and accuracy in this precision-based game.

While specific rankings for darts were not disclosed, the event marked a successful debut

for the sport, with Equity Bank among the teams testing their skills in this novel corporate competition.

The Corporate Sports Network event attracted a diverse lineup, including returning champions Centenary Bank,who were determined to defend their 2024 title, and newcomers like Autochek Uganda and Kyambogo University.

Other notable participants included Uganda Red Cross, Uganda Revenue Authority (URA), and Hotel Africana, a consistent powerhouse in past seasons, having clinched the overall title in 2022 with 326 points.

The event also featured netball, volleyball, swimming, pool, tug-of-war, and fun games,

ensuring a vibrant mix of activities for all.

While exact results for each event on July 27, 2025, were not fully reported, Equity Bank

Uganda’s vibrant participation underscored their dedication to sports and community

engagement.

The CSN season will continue with more outings across venues like Mandela National Stadium, Hamz Stadium Nakivubo, and Makerere University Business School (MUBS), culminating in an awards dinner to crown the year’s top performers.
