BUWENGE: ONC Boss Namyalo Intensifies grassroots mobilization in Busoga

Thousands of the ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM) party supporters on Wednesday filled up Market Zone in Buwenge Town Council, Kagoma North Constituency, Jinja District in Eastern Uganda, as top political mobilisation guru, Senior Presidential Advisor and Manager of the Office of the National Chairman (ONC), Hajjat Hadijah Namyalo Uzeiye brought the place to a standstill.

Wednesday’s mega street jam, dubbed Busoga Bus Tikinga, had one objective; mobilising residents across the region while providing clear guidance on the voting procedure ahead of the January 15, 2026 general elections.

Supporters turned up in large numbers to listen, learn and above all; pledge their total loyalty to the man from Rwakitura.

Addressing the crowd, bubbly Hajjat Namyalo rallied the people of Busoga to remain united and politically vigilant stressing the importance of them making their vote count with President Museveni, the NRM National Chairman.

“The future of our country depends on how well we protect our vote. I urge you to come out in big numbers and give President Museveni an overwhelming victory,” she said amid wild cheers from supporters.

Namyalo’s name is household item in the political corridors of power when the word mobilisation is mentioned, with only the Guinness Book of Records yet to swallow humble pie and admit her.

The event was further boosted by the presence of Hon. Kintu Alex Brandon, the Member of Parliament for Kagoma North and Spokesperson of the NRM Parliamentary Caucus. He rallied supporters to fully participate in the upcoming elections, urging them to turn up in large numbers on polling day.

Credible sources and analysts worth their name have described Busoga as a political hotspot, however, Namyalo who made NRM supporters in Buganda feel proud of wearing yellow T shirts again following the 2021 debacle, is leaving no stone unturned in efforts to secure maximum points for Museveni in the land of Budhagali.

“Busoga has always stood with the NRM. On January 15, let us come out early and heap votes on President Museveni,” he told the gathering. Hajjat Namyalo also highlighted the NRM’s achievements in infrastructure development, peace, education and socio-economic transformation, noting that these gains must be safeguarded through active participation in the electoral process.

“We have seen roads built, schools improved and peace maintained. These achievements did not come by accident, and we must protect them,” she said. A key highlight of the mobilisation drive was voter education. The ONC Manager sensitised residents on how to correctly cast their ballots, cautioning them against common mistakes. “Do not tick on the candidate’s photo or party symbol. Make sure you tick in the provided box on the ballot paper so that your vote is counted,” she advised.

Earlier in the day, Hajjat Namyalo made a symbolic and culturally significant stop at Bujagali in Jinja, where she offered prayers for President Museveni’s victory in the forthcoming elections. The visit attracted community members and supporters, reflecting a moment of faith, unity and national hope as the election season gathers momentum.

Bujagali Falls, located near Jinja at the source of the River Nile, holds deep cultural and spiritual significance among the Basoga people. For generations, it has been revered as a place of blessing, protection and guidance. By choosing Bujagali as a place of prayer, Hajjat Namyalo’s visit reflected respect for cultural heritage and a call for peace, prosperity and spiritual guidance for the nation as Ugandans prepare to cast their votes. “As we pray for victory, we also pray for peace and unity in our country,” she remarked.

Affectionately known as Chief Muzzukulu, Hajjat Namyalo continues to play a central role in grassroots mobilisation for President Museveni and the NRM. Through her leadership at the ONC, she has strengthened youth and community participation in national development while emphasising the importance of moral and spiritual grounding in public life.

As the 2026 elections draw closer, the Busoga mobilisation and the prayers at Bujagali signal growing grassroots enthusiasm and unity behind the NRM and President Museveni.
