Prime Minister Rt Hon Nabbanja Robinah on Friday 20th November 2025 visited Staunch Machinery Uganda, a factory based in the Industrial and Business Park, Namanve.

On arrival, the Premier was received by H.E Mohammad Hussien Consul of Uganda to Lebanon and CEO of Staunch Machinery Group uganda.
Nabbanja, who was taken on a guided tour of the factory, was impressed by the products manufactured at the company. These include power generators, construction and agricultural equipment, as well as solar equipment, among others.
According to Mohammad, products manufactured by this factory are supplied to Uganda, East Africa, and Europe markets.

The Prime Minister commended the company for supporting Uganda’s manufacturing agenda and using locally available raw materials to make their products.
She also commended them for creating employment opportunities and contributing towards the economic development of Uganda and assured investors of Uganda’s commitment to maintaining a conducive environment for them.

H.E President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni recently has directed all ministries, departments and agencies (MDA’s) of government to first procure locally manufactured goods and services before opting to foreign goods.
He said billions of shillings spent on buying foreign goods and services must be channeled to Ugandan manufacturers to grow the country. He said the government would work with the factories so that the products that are made locally get to market.
