Mpoma School satellite Campus has once again made headlines for the exceptional performance of their students in the 2024 Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education (UACE) exams.

Speaking to the students and other stakeholders at the school on Friday after the release of the exams , Ms. Eron Kabaale, the Head teacher of  Mpoma School satellite Campus said the remarkable performance of students reflects not only their academic prowess but also the effectiveness of the school’s teaching methodologies and learning environment.

She emphasized that the school had once again proven its status as an academic giant, with all the 51 candidates who sat the UACE exams in 2024 achieving impressive results.The 2024 performance is a testament to the school’s exceptional academic standards.

Among the top-performing students were;  Makubuya Edgar 19 points (PCM/ICT) , Magezi Leopold 18 points (PTM/ICT) , Nakibirango Esther 17 points ( HED/ICT) , Ipelet Daniel 17 points ( HED/ICT) ,Sseddinda Lincoln Kibuuka 17 points ( PEM/ICT) and Namuliira Gloria 15 points ( DAL/ICT) among others.

These outstanding results serve as a proud reflection of the hard work and dedication of the students, teachers, and parents alike.

The head teacher further extended her gratitude to the parents and teachers for their dedicated efforts, acknowledging that the collaboration between all parties had been key to the students’ success.

She encouraged the students in Senior Six to follow in the footsteps of their predecessors, giving their all in the upcoming exams to ensure even greater achievements in the future.

The Uganda National Examinations Board (UNEB) released the 2024 Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education (UACE) results on Friday, revealing a significant improvement in performance compared to 2023.

The exams, conducted from November 11 to December 6, 2024, saw higher pass rates at nearly all levels, reflecting better preparation and academic achievement.

A total of 54,338 candidates attained three principal passes, up from 52,630 in 2023.

Those securing two principal passes rose to 37,935 from 28,186, while the number of candidates with one principal pass also increased. Subsidiary-level passes grew from 8.4% in 2023 to 12.6% in 2024.

Female candidates continued to outperform males proportionally, with 43.7% securing three principal passes compared to 34.6% of males.

In total, 71.2% of females attained at least two principal passes, surpassing the 61.1% rate among males. Despite this, male candidates remained higher in absolute numbers due to larger enrollment.

Performance in General Paper also improved, with 81.9% of candidates achieving grades A-E, up from 81.6% in 2023.

A rising interest in sciences was noted, particularly among female candidates, with Mathematics entries increasing from 45,414 in 2023 to 58,495 in 2024.

The results reflect the positive impact of ongoing education sector reforms, paving the way for more equitable and competitive learning opportunities.
