Mpoma School satellite Campus  Shines in 2024 UCE Exams

Mukono based Mpoma School satellite Campus once again proved to be one of the country’s most dependable secondary schools after they excelled in the 2024 Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE)  exams just as has been the case in the previous couple of years.

With results for the 2024 UCE released on Tuesday, February 11th 2025 at State Lodge, Nakasero, Kampala, the Mpoma School satellite Campus has emerged as a beacon of academic excellence, showcasing remarkable achievement in the UCE under the newly introduced Competency-Based Curriculum (CBC).

Shortly after the UCE results were made public, the head teacher of the school, Ms. Eron Kabaale, told our reporter that the school had achieved these greatest results due to the multi- stakeholder’s efforts .

Kabaale linked high performance to students’ discipline, God-fearing, and teamwork among the staff revealing that all students passed in result 1.

“We are incredibly proud of our students’ achievements,” said Kabaale. “Their exceptional performance is a testament to their resilience and determination, as well as the unwavering support of our dedicated teachers and parents.”

Over the years since its establishment, Mpoma School satellite Campus has maintained its position as a centre of academic excellence in Mukono district, Central Uganda and the entire nation.

The school’s arrangement aims at providing to the learners 21st Century skills which include; critical thinking, creativity, collaboration or teamwork, communication, information literacy, ICT, and flexibility.

Out of 359,417 candidates registered for the exams, an impressive 98.05 percent (or 350,146 candidates) qualified for the UCE certificate. This high success rate reflects both the effectiveness of the CBC and the resilience of students and educators in adapting to the new system.

The results were classified into three categories. Result 1 represented candidates who met all certification requirements, including completing continuous assessment, submitting project work, and sitting for all compulsory subjects. These students received their UCE certificates with detailed transcripts reflecting their performance. Result 2 was designated for candidates who missed key requirements, such as failing to sit for core subjects or neglecting project work, while Result 3 applied to those who scored an elementary grade (E) across all subjects, demonstrating a lack of basic competency.
