He also thanked MakRif who were the sponsors of the PDM project for entrusting the team to conduct this research that informs the government about the viable and practical solution that will make PDM a potential vehicle for economic transformation.

Dr. Mutumba in his remarks used a metaphor “of one’s inability to successfully locate their way for the future without knowing where they come from, emphasizing learning lessons from previous experiences.

He further urged the government to; ‘’always first get performance reports, get evidence of failure of the previous interventions, draw lessons from past mistakes and address previous weaknesses in order to better position a new intervention so as to realize its potential.”

He noted that based on their findings, PDM has the potential to work and achieve its intended objective of getting people out of poverty if the government pays attention to the project findings, addresses the highlighted challenges, and adapts and implements the policy recommendations they have made.
