The ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM) party has held rallies around Ottawa in Canada to thank President Museveni for his services to the country and also celebrate the 38th liberation anniversary.
The NRM members led by Uganda’s Ambassador to Canada Joy Ruth Acheng gathered at the embassy in Ottawa to celebrate President Museveni’s 38 years in office.

Supporters have come from cities including Ottawa, Toronto, Vancouver, Montreal and others as they took to the streets dancing and singing songs praising the NRM and its contributions to the development of the country.
They pointed out agriculture, education, health and security that the NRM government has handled well and urged Ugandans to love their country and work hard to support its development.
Dickson Asiimwe , the chief mobiliser Canada NRM Chapter revealed that NRM has massive support across Canada and the diaspora at large, attributing to it proper service delivery on the Uganda embassy.He added that there are a few cases demonstrations from some members of opposition whom he described as self-seekers .
Joy Ruth Acheng, the Ugandan ambassador to Canada said they had to appreciate president’s contribution to the country in the 38 years.
She added that opposition supporters have liberty to protest due to the freedom and peace ushered in by President Museveni and the NRM government. Acheng said NRM has the biggest number supporters in the diaspora, adding that because of the “noise” they make, the opposition who are few make people think they are the majority. She applauded President Museveni for the development of the country and empowering women.
