Busoga Regional Youth Symposium to Empower and Engage Young Leaders

Jinja ,Busoga, Uganda – The Busoga Regional Youth Symposium is set to take place from 6th to 12th August 2024 at the Busoga Kingdom Headquarters in Jinja, Uganda.

The symposium, organized by the Busoga Kingdom Youth and ICT Ministry, aims to bring together young leaders from the region to discuss and address common challenges facing youth in Busoga and find sustainable solutions.

The theme for this year’s symposium is “Empowering and Engaging Young Leaders for a Better Busoga.” The event will feature a week-long series of activities, including medical camps, blood donation drives, environmental activities, panel discussions, workshops, and networking sessions. The symposium will also provide a platform for young leaders to showcase their talents and share their success stories.

The Busoga Regional Youth Symposium will bring together over 20,000 young leaders from different districts in the Busoga region. The participants will include students, entrepreneurs, activists, and professionals from various fields. The symposium will also feature local and national leaders, as well as representatives from international organizations, who will serve as mentors and resource persons.

The Ministry, aims to promote youth participation in decision-making processes and foster unity among young people in Busoga. The regional symposium is one of the initiatives the ministry has undertaken to achieve its objectives. Through this event, the ministry hopes to create a platform for young leaders to share their perspectives, engage in critical debates, and develop innovative solutions that will contribute to the development of Busoga.

According to Owekitibwa Veronica Kagona the State Minister in charge of youths and ICT in Busoga says the Symposium will focus on a wide range of topics, including entrepreneurship, leadership, education, mindset talks, health, and environmental sustainability. The event will also address issues such as youth unemployment, gender equality, and social inclusion. The symposium will feature expert speakers and facilitators who will provide insights and practical tools to support the growth and development of young leaders in the region.

The Busoga Youth And ICT Ministry invites all interested individuals and organizations to participate in the symposium and contribute to the success of the event. The symposium will provide a unique opportunity for participants to network, collaborate, and learn from each other. It will also serve as a platform to build partnerships and create a unified voice for the youth in Busoga.
