JINJA Resident City Commissioner (RCC), Mr. Darius Nandinda is reportedly in trouble over suspected fraud after he declined to pay for a stay at a high-end hotel in Jinja City, Source Garden Hotel.
The unpaid hotel bill, which included accommodation and meals, amounts to around Shs 8 million, a source reported on condition of anonymity.
It is alleged that Nandinda, the President’s representative in Jinja was accommodated at the hotel when he had just reported in Busoga’s City to carry out his official duties and being an official, the management trusted his reputation to clear the bills.
‘’As his bills accumulated, Nandinda was excited and felt comfort from our hospitality , an oasis of cool and green, with a secure environment ideally of Source Garden Hotel. He then held his wedding activities at the Hotel including the honeymoon’’, added a source.
Nandinda and his bonkmate reportedly stayed at the luxurious hotel fully being looked after by the excellent staff, enjoying all sorts of food and beverages as if they had won a travel coupon.
‘’Things turned ugly when the flamboyant RCC left the facility and immediately started ignoring calls to clear the bills .People of Jinja City still wonder how an RCC could spend all that time residing in a luxurious hotel and fails to pay well aware that the hospitality industry is struggling with the post –COVID-19 constraints and bank loans’’, noted further our source.

It is alleged that Nandinda further hired the hotel’s Limousine for some days, including the accommodation for some guests who had travelled long distances to grace the wedding who also were treated to ‘heaven and earth’ by the hotel , the bills he hasn’t cleared.
After enjoying the amenities at the out-of-town retreat spread over 5 acres of well-manicured gardens, with lawns, swaying palm trees and tropical plants that create a tranquil atmosphere, Nandinda reportedly stopped picking calls from the hotel administrators until now.
