Speaking during the press briefing held at the ONC offices in Kyambogo, Namyalo unveiled preparations for celebrations leading to Museveni’s swearing-in ceremony scheduled for May 12, 2026, at Kololo Ceremonial Grounds.

Speaking on behalf of the “Bazukulu” Namyalo said they still have full confidence in President Museveni’s leadership and the NRM government.

“The Office of the National Chairman played a key role in mobilizing support for President Museveni and encouraging him to stand again at a time when many people were pressuring him to leave the ballot,” Namyalo said.

According to Namyalo, Museveni’s victory with 72 percent of the vote demonstrated the trust Ugandans still have in his leadership.

“The election is now over. What remains is for our beloved leader to be sworn in honorably, and afterward we shall begin demanding the fulfillment of the promises he made to Ugandans,” she stated.

Namyalo described the upcoming inauguration as a historic event and called upon Ugandans from all walks of life to attend in large numbers.

“This is not just an ordinary swearing-in ceremony, but a moment for all Ugandans, especially ordinary citizens, to celebrate and rejoice together,” she said.

She further revealed that under a mobilization campaign dubbed #PresidentOmupya2026, ONC supporters will participate in several community activities including sanitation campaigns, hospital visits, and public mobilization drives aimed at encouraging citizens to take part in the inauguration celebrations.

At the same briefing, Namyalo expressed concern over the ongoing evictions and demolition exercises affecting low-income residents in different urban areas.

While acknowledging the importance of development, she warned against implementing projects that negatively affect vulnerable communities.

“Development is important, but it should not oppress ordinary people. Many of these citizens voted for President Museveni and they should not be left suffering in tears,” Namyalo said.

She however supported the removal of illegal structures built in wetlands and drainage channels that contribute to flooding.

“Where authorities are demolishing makeshift structures and buildings constructed in wetlands that cause floods, that is understandable,” she added.
