MYDE , UYDEL lead the Destigmatization Campaign on crisis Pregnancies

In partnership with the Uganda Youth Development Link (UYDEL), Mengo Youth Development Link (MYDEL) has reached out to households of girls who suffered crisis pregnancies with the aim of mitigating the stigma towards them.

This follows the number of reported cases that reached their offices on the matter.

Over 200 families were brought together and oriented on the need to comfort the victims of crisis pregnancies rather than condemning them.

Pascal Lutaaya from MYDEL and Mr semwanga were the lead experts on this

campaign .

Community members were guided to discourage the crisis of pregnancy but at the same time they should discourage stigmatization if it happens.

During the event , KCCA conducted a medical camp where girls were treated for different ailments and given health tips.

The  Organizations commended local leaders  for the grand mobilization and Management of Uganda Youth Development Link for supporting the event.

Mengo Youth Development Link (MYDEL) iz  a non-governmental organization that helps vulnerable youth. It primarily focuses on improving the life situations of vulnerable members of society, especially children, women, and youth, through various development programs.MYDEL partners with various international and local organizations to provide essential items, address gender-based violence, and support persons with disabilities (PWDs).

The Uganda Youth Development Link (UYDEL) is a national Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) established , dedicated to the socio-economic transformation and empowerment of disadvantaged young people in Uganda.

UYDEL uses a holistic, evidence-based approach to reach vulnerable youth, including those in slums, victims of commercial sex work, child trafficking, substance abuse, and other forms of exploitation.

Over the years , the organization has provided vocational skills, business training, and apprenticeships in areas like hairdressing, tailoring, electronics, and catering. This often includes providing start-up kits and offering non-formal education pathways. It also provides leading efforts in alcohol, drug, and substance abuse prevention, offering counseling, and supporting rehabilitation and recovery.
