The Deputy Resident District Commissioner (RDC) of Budaka, Hajjati Nusura Nabukalu, has tragically passed away in a road accident along the Jinja highway.
The crash occurred on Sunday at around 5:00 P.m. when her Toyota Double Cabin (UG 4803C) collided head-on with a trailer (KDH 025V). Nabukalu was returning from an official event in Bulamagi, Iganga District, at the time of the tragic incident.
According to the Minister for the Presidency, Milly Babalanda, Hajjati Nabukalu died at Musita after being involved in a fatal crash.
Describing the incident as a painful loss, Minister Babalanda expressed her condolences and highlighted the deceased’s unwavering dedication to serving the nation.
“I announce the heartbreaking news of the death of the Deputy RDC Budaka, Hajjati Nusura Nabukalu, who died in an accident this evening at Musita. So painful a loss at this time,” said Minister Babalanda.
“She will be dearly missed for her dedicated services to the motherland. May her soul rest in eternal peace. My condolences go to her family, friends, and the Presidency at large,” she added.
The Special Presidential Assistant for Press and Mobilisation, Faruk Kirunda, has praised Hajjati Nabukalu as a tested, trusted, focused, and straightforward cadre of the National Resistance Movement (NRM) party.
Kirunda noted that Nabukalu was appointed due to her unwavering dedication to the party and her nation.
“She was well-known at all levels, even from when I was very young. I remember hearing about her contributions in local council structures, where she served with distinction. She has died in the line of duty and deserves to be celebrated and emulated for her commitment,” he remarked.
The untimely death of Hajjati Nabukalu leaves a void in the leadership of Budaka District, with many mourning her loss.
