“I extend my heartfelt appreciation to MTN for their invaluable support,” stated Bishop Kisembo. “This contribution significantly enhances our preparations for Martyrs’ Day, enabling us to commemorate the enduring faith of the Uganda Martyrs.”

The contribution to the Anglicans comes a day after MTN equally supported the Catholic Shrine’s preparations in Nebbi ahead of the Martyrs’ Day celebration in Namugongo.

Furthermore, MTN will sponsor the broadcast of activities leading up to Martyrs’ Day celebrations and the proceedings of the actual day on local TV stations, ensuring broader participation in the celebrations.

As Uganda commemorates the 60th anniversary of the canonization of the Uganda Martyrs by Pope Paul VI, this year’s theme, “Conforming to the Truth of God’s word and not the patterns of the world” (Romans 12:1-2), resonates with the enduring legacy of faith and sacrifice exemplified by the Martyrs.

MTN Uganda remains steadfast in its commitment to fostering partnerships that promote unity, spirituality, and cultural heritage, embodying the company’s ethos of making a meaningful impact in the communities it serves.
