Kashari North Constituency aspirant who also doubles as the Kira Municipality Chief Mobiliser for Muhoozi Kainerugaba (MK) Movement, Hon. Daniel Kananura Damazo has graduated with a Master’s degree in Procurement and Supply Chain Management from Makerere University.
Kananura , whom Kashari North voters begged to return in the race come 2026 and rescue them from what they have always termed as ‘misrepresentation’ in parliament’ is key figure and mobiliser in the MK movement headed by Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba, Uganda’s first son and the Special Presidential Advisor on Special Operations.
Prior to graduating with a Master’s degree in Procurement and Supply Chain Management from Makerere University, Kananura is also pursuing a law degree in one of the prominent universities in the country.
An ardent supporter of the National Resistance Movement (NRM) and Gen.Muhoozi, Kananura a procurement consultant and renowned businessman is celebrated for his advanced mobilization skills, which prompted his appointment to the office of the Kira Municipality mobiliser for Gen.MK.
At Kashari, Kananura is loved for advocating for Infrastructure Development (road links), fully functionalized healthcare system, Ideological Orientation of the Young Turks, re-alignment of Education Policy and re-structuring, women and youth empowerment, rural electrification among other programs the reason voters want him in Parliament.
It should be remembered that last year, Ugandan leader Yoweri Museveni’s son, Muhoozi Kainerugaba, announced his candidacy for the 2026 presidential election, saying it was “time for our generation to shine,”.
Observers have long considered Muhoozi Kainerugaba, 49, to be tipped to take over Uganda’s Top seat in the subsequent elections.
The 74th Graduation Ceremony of Makerere University held from Monday 29th January to Friday 2nd February 2024 at the Freedom Square has seen a total of 131 PhDs (47 female, 84 male), 1,587 Masters (700 female, 887 male), 156 Postgraduate Diplomas (67 female, 89 male), 11,016 Undergraduate Degrees (5,990 female, 5,026 male), and 24 Undergraduate Diplomas (15 female, 9 male) graduating from all the Colleges.
Makerere University is Uganda’s largest and oldest institution of higher learning, first established as a technical school in 1922, and the oldest currently active university in East Africa. It became an independent national university in 1970. Today, Makerere University is composed of nine colleges and one school offering programmes for about 36,000 undergraduates and 4,000 postgraduates.
Makerere is the highest-ranked university in sub-Saharan Africa outside of South Africa.
