Uganda International Tradefair 2023: Exhibitors Commend UMA for Creating Trade Opportunities, Exposure

Exhibitors at the ongoing 29th Uganda International Trade Fair (UGITF) have commended Uganda Manufacturers Association (UMA) the organizers of the event, highlighting that the platform presents an opportunity to build on existing customer relationships and boost customer loyalty, feedback from customers which is extremely helpful for improving products and services and also promoting business to new customers.

‘’ Participation in these international trade fairs is important not only for the Ugandan market but also for export sales since we have stakeholders from different countries. This will open up a multitude of opportunities for us as exhibitors. We thank the UMA and Ugandan government for this conducive environment for us to operate smoothly’’, noted one of the exhibitors.

Another exhibitor from Steema Transformers Ltd added that the exhibition has helped them; raise their profile and generate brand awareness, Meeting face-to-face with potential customers, Networking, Launch new products and Build their database.

‘’Meeting with potential customers at such an exhibition helps us to start building our marketing lists and generate qualified sales leads’’, noted a Steema Transformer official.

The 29th Uganda International Trade Fair (UGITF) started on 3rd and will go up to 10th, October, 2023, at the UMA show grounds, under the theme “Driving Manufacturing and Trade Efficiency through Digital Transformation and Innovation”. The annual UGITF is one of the biggest national calendar events that attract local, regional, and international manufacturers, traders, distributors, from various sectors, who will showcase a variety of high quality products and services.

Executive Board Chairman of UMA Deo Kayemba said on Wednesday that the trade fair is a platform for traders to promote the latest innovations among start-ups and facilitate business networking.

“The UGITF also creates opportunities for business investors and stakeholders to connect and explore partnerships that can accelerate the adoption of digital technology and innovative solutions,” said Kayemba.

This year, 2023, more than 300,000 visitors, including Heads of State, high profile businesspersons, politicians, celebrities, students, researchers and other participants, will have an opportunity to tour all the exhibition centers, build partnerships and exchange ideas.

Public safety and security is also guaranteed by dedicated teams from General Duties, Field Force Unit (FFU), Counter Terrorism, Traffic, Joint Intelligence (ISO, CMI and Crime Intelligence), K9, Fire Brigade, Medical, ICT, CID, UPDF and SFC, among others, who will maintain a heightened presence, throughout the event.

To provide more security to exhibitors and the general public, security mapped out routes for patrols, on foot, motorcycles, vehicles as well as aerial surveillance, using UAVs and opened up a command center, with CCTV, that monitors all movements of persons and motor vehicles, 24/7 throughout the 7 day, Trade Fair.
