2023 BRAND AFRICA AWARDS: Centenary Bank named Uganda’s Most Admired Bank for doing good in society, people and environment
Kampala 14th July 2023 – Centenary Bank, the largest commercial microfinance bank in Uganda has been honored with two esteemed accolades at the prestigious Brand Africa Awards. The bank was recognized as the “Most Admired Ugandan Financial Service” and the “Most Admired Brand for Doing Good for Society, People, and Environment.” This was during an awards ceremony held at Golden Tulip in Kampala.
The Brand Africa 100 Awards seek to recognize and celebrate the top 100 brands throughout Africa. Brand Africa organized the awards ceremony to honor Uganda’s greatest brands. The success of many brands in their individual areas was examined in-depth market research that was carried out across the continent as the foundation for these awards.
Beatrice Lugalambi, the bank’s General Manager Corporate Communications and Marketing appreciated Brand Africa for their dedication in recognizing financial institutions and African Businesses.

Centenary Bank has been actively involved in various initiatives aimed at promoting environmental sustainability and giving back to society. At the beginning of this year, the bank embarked on a green journey, resulting in the planting of over 3,022 trees across major cities in the country. Additionally, the bank has partnered with Rotary in the fight against cancer in Uganda through the Rotary Cancer Run for the past 11 years. Lugalambi expressed delight that these efforts were being acknowledged and recognized.
She further emphasized, “Our commitment to environmental conservation and our longstanding partnership with Rotary to combat cancer in Uganda are integral parts of our corporate social responsibility initiatives.”
