Uganda is set to host the 10th East African Petroleum Conference and exhibition 2023.
This was revealed by the minister of Energy and Mineral Development Dr Ruth Nankabirwa during an exclusive interview at the ministry of Energy headquarters in Kampala.
Nankabirwa said that during this conference Uganda will demonstrate its potential in the development of Oil and Gas sector.
“This conference aims at showcasing the East African community (EAC) as a destination of choice for Oil and Gas investment opportunities to enhance socioeconomic transformation” the minister said.
“Uganda will also put a case across to European Governments to indicate that Africa is determined to exploit its natural resources especially in Oil and Gas sector”. She added
She also said that the main objective of this conference is enhance investment in the region by demonstrating the potential Uganda has in Oil and Gas sector.
The conference will take place on 9th to 11th next month at Serena Hotel in Kampala with the Theme:the East Africa as a hub for for investment in exploration and exploitation of petroleum resources for sustainable energy and socioeconomic development.
Nankabirwa further stressed that the conference will provide a unique forum for dialogue for all players in the Oil and Gas industry at both regional and international levels.
