In a shocking revelation, it has come to light that Hon. Sam Mayanja, the State Minister for Lands allegedly allocated land to one Zubair Galiwango without the necessary approval of the Land Commission.
This illicit allocation may have potential implications for Uganda’s land management and governance.
Land is a valuable and finite resource in Uganda, and its management and allocation are highly regulated to prevent fraud and corruption. The Lands Commission plays a pivotal role in overseeing the allocation of land and ensuring that the process is fair and transparent. Any allocation made without their involvement raises serious questions about the legality and integrity of the transaction.
Our investigation uncovered documents and testimonies that suggest that Hon. Sam Mayanja ordered the allocation of land to Zubair Galiwango without consulting the Land Commission or any other relevant protocols.
This alarming revelation raises concerns about the legality of the transaction and whether due process was followed. The unauthorized land allocation raises several critical questions and potential implications:
- Bypassing Due Process:
If the Lands Commission was not involved, it may indicate a breach of the established legal procedures for land allocation.
- Transparency and Accountability: The allocation of land without proper oversight undermines transparency and accountability in Uganda’s land management.
3.Potential Corruption: Allegations of corruption and favoritism may arise if the allocation was made without the Lands Commission’s involvement.
Given the seriousness of these allegations, there is a growing call for a thorough investigation into the matter to ascertain the facts and ensure accountability. It is essential to determine whether the allocation was made in violation of the law and whether there was any impropriety involved.
